INJECTABLES
Injectable treatments are often referred to as fillers and come in a wide variety of forms, each with their own set of unique characteristics. These treatments can last anywhere between 4 months to well past 1.5-2 years while some may be essentially permanent. Whether you are looking to reduce lines, wrinkles and hollows, plump your lips or accent your cheeks, SCA has the right injectable solution for you.

Botox® Dysport®
No longer hush-hush, more and more women and men appreciate the magic of this WRINKLE ERASER, literally REMOVING YEARS from their eyes and face with just a few targeted injections. Self-Centered Aesthetics™ under the guidance of Dr. Haworth helps you skip the lines to get ahead of the march of time.
Botox® is the most utilized non-surgical cosmetic medical treatment in the world. It's most popular use is for diminishing lines and wrinkles around the eyes and apart from surgery is one of the most effective ways to do so.
As we age, our skin becomes less elastic, thinner and more susceptible to damage we can control and damage which we can't. Unfortunately, this weakening of our skin becomes a self-perpetuating circle. The cycle gets its start as our own skin's intrinsic metabolism decelerates over time which, in turn, decreases its ability to heal FULLY and QUICKLY. Now that this circle is in motion, what accelerates it is the NON-STOP injury our skin has to endure 24/7, further debilitating it in its already self-weakened state. In addition to environmental factors, including food, sun and tobacco, injury comes from we do to ourselves everyday-eating, talking and expressing ourselves! Each time we smile, frown, or lift our eyebrows in surprise, our facial muscles contract and fold the attached skin. After 20-30 years of unremitting facial expressions come lines and wrinkles, making people look older, angry, and/or tired.
In essence our skin doesn't bounce back the way it did.
But now we can do something about it... Well into the 21st century, we currently have myriad ways to not only protect our skin but also rejuvenate it. In addition to advanced creams, serums, fillers and lasers, there is Botox® and Dysport®. Botox® was the first FDA approved treatment designed to soften wrinkles by weakening the muscles that cause them in the first place. In essence, bot Botox® and Dysport® are neuromodulators which can be considered as the ultimate wrinkle relaxers.
Imagine a procedure of less than 10-15 minutes restoring both your skin and expression to the way you remember. If this is what you are looking for, Botox® and Dysport® may be your answer.
Botox® and Dysport® is for both WOMEN and MEN. Indeed, in clinical studies for frown lines, 17.5% of those treated with were men. According to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, in 2014 10% of all cosmetic procedures performed in the USA were on men. The number of cosmetic procedures for men increased by 273% from 1997 to 2014.
Where Can I use Botox® and Dysport®?
On-label, these can used on frown lines between the eyebrows also called the elevens and decrease CROW'S FEET. Botox is also commonly used to decrease both PERSPIRATION of the hands ("sweaty palms") and under the the arms (hyperhidrosis). Most recently, Botox has just been approved by the FDA to smooth the FOREHEAD by dramatically reducing its accompanying horizontal wrinkles, while avoiding making the brows look "heavy" or "settled".
Off-label, we at Self Centered Aesthetics employ Botox® and Dysport®:
1. To create a subtle and elegant EYEBROW lift. Under the aegis of Dr. Haworth, our staff are trained to create a beautiful eyebrow arch without an artificial, "Dr Spock" or "Jack Nicholson" shape.
2. In select patients, to actually reduce the crepey appearance of the actual lower EYELID skin.
3. To reduce those pesky wrinkles which occur on the sides of the NOSE with squinting or grimacing, affectionally called "bunny lines".
4. To reduce the width of the JAW (by targeting the masseter muscles) in those seeking specific customization in how their face appears.
5. To rejuvenate and reshape the LIP AREA, by treating vertical "smoker's lines" of the upper lip and/or elevating the corners of a sagging mouth. Not only are wrinkles decreased but the actual shape of the lips is improved in subtle, yet effective ways.
6. To smooth out the dimpling and pitting or "cobblestone" appearance of the CHIN.
7. To restore the smoothness of the NECK by targeting both the static and dynamic vertical bands which emerge over the years. Furthermore, sagging submandibular glands can be made to sometimes disappear even if a face or neck lift failed to correct the issue.
*Individual results may vary.
1. Botox® and Dysport® treatments typically consist of a number of injections using a very small needle. To minimize the chance of getting a bruise from any injection, it is recommended you abstain from medications and supplements that could thin the blood. Common examples of these are listed below. Self-CA can provide you with a printed more comprehensive list of medications, vitamins and nutritional supplements to avoid 7-10 prior to your treatment. Of course, consult your physician before discontinuing any medications or supplements you may have been prescribed.
Supplement / Medication Stop # Days Prior to Procedure:
• Fish Oil --- 10 Days
• Aspirin or Aspirin Products --- 7 Days
• Advil, Motrin, Ibuprofen, other NSAIDS --- 3 Days
• Vitamin E --- 3 Days
2. Although many patients do not bruise from a treatment, if a bruise should occur, it may be visible for as long as 7-10 days. Consider this when selecting a date for your treatment.
3. We may advise you to stagger other treatments, such as laser, IPL, microdermabrasion and peels to a different day from the Botox® and Dysport®. These treatments can increase blood flow or heat the skin, in turn promoting bruising and reduce the effectiveness of Botox® and Dysport®.
THE VISIT
If you are a new client, expect to be here at least 45 minutes. We will review your medical history, go over the procedure, expectations and answer any questions you may have. We will take pre and post treatment photographs to document the improvement once the treatment is complete. Follow-up procedures should take approximately 15-20 minutes. Some report that being injected with feels like a pinch.
We at Self-CA have a number of ways to minimize the discomfort of any injection we administer, including strong numbing agents, cold distraction and "Zentox", a technique invented by Dr Haworth specifically for this purpose. A blend of Eastern and Western medicine, Zentox involves the simultaneous application of hot and cold jade stones during administration of Botox® and Dysport®.
AFTERCARE
No massages, hats, heat or or lying down for 2 hours after the procedure.
Follow-up appointments may be recommended 2 weeks after treatment.
Typically you should see results within two to ten days post your treatment. Your results should peak by the end of the second month, then you should gradually start seeing some movement in the area(s) treated. Results generally last 3-4 months. By the end of month 3 or 4, you should have complete movement. However, we frequently hear from our patients that their results from Self-CA have lasted for well past 6 months.
Be wary of discount products or “cheap” Botox® and Dysport®—if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Restylane®
From LYFT, REFYNE and DEFYNE to SILK and the GOLD STANDARD of Hyaluronic acid fillers, Restylane® itself, Self-Centered Aesthetics™ has you covered.
Our credo at Self-Centered Aesthetics™ is to EMBRACE every person as a UNIQUE patient needing a CUSTOMIZED approach to filler placement. We go the extra mile to vet what we believe to be the BEST filler solution for each patient's individual cosmetic concern. What we don't do is simply provide a non-curated list of fillers available on the market today.
Basically, there are two types of fillers: temporary ones and those that are more permanent. Among the temporaries are Radiesse® (calcium hydroxlapatite) and the hyaluronic acid (HA) based gel which include Belotero® and those of Restylane® and Juvéderm®. The more permanent fillers available in the US include both fat (which is performed with a surgical procedure called fat transfer) and Bellafill®.
Restylane® is an FDA approved hyaluronic acid-based anti-wrinkle injectable treatment for the correction of moderate to severe facial wrinkles and folds.
The Restylane® family of products can reverse the signs of aging by giving you toned and balanced definition around the EYES, MID-FACE and LIPS. Results can last for up to one year for wrinkles and folds and 6 months for lip augmentation. With the newer products, results can last well over one and half years.
Among the many concerns that can be treated with Restylane® are:
1. DEEP LINES and FOLDS such as the "nasolabial folds, or "parenthesis line," marionette folds, "smokers lines" for those vertical wrinkles, frown lines, etc.
2. The horizontal "necklace lines" or visible grooves that run transversely across the neck.
3. Facial atrophy such as HOLLOW, gaunt CHEEKS, TEMPLE concavities and "tear troughs" or dark UNDER-EYE circles.
4. Facial beautification including cheek augmentation, jawline ENHANCEMENT as well as nasal shape and SYMMETRY improvement ("nonsurgical nose job").
5. Rejuvenating long, atrophic flaccid earlobes.
6. SCARS including those caused by acne.
7. Aging of the HAND including hollowing, visible tendons and veins.
*Individual results may vary. Some concerns which can be successfully treated with Restylane® are FDA off-label uses.
Restylane®- L
The only dermal filler FDA approved for LIP AUGMENTATION and still the industry leader in smoothing facial folds around the MOUTH and EYES.
Restylane® Silk
Injected closer to the surface of the skin, SMALLER, SMOOTHER hyaluronic acid particles have been specially designed to revive thinning under the eyes, depleted, lackluster LIPS and the vertical lines around them. Indeed, Dr. Haworth feels that Silk® is wonderful in removing the under-hollows/DARK CIRCLES also known as "tear troughs" to produce a natural smooth transition from the lower eyelid onto the cheek.
Restylane® Lyft
Providing natural fullness and now fully approved by the FDA for CHEEK AUGMENTATION and the correction of age-related mid-face CONTOUR DEFICIENCIES, in addition to treating DEEPER facial wrinkles and FOLDS.
Restylane® Refyne
A next generation HA that has a smoother consistency. This makes the filler easier to manipulate, and less visible during facial expressions. Being a MORE FLEXIBLE product, it can be used in SHALLOWER FOLDS and more superficial wrinkles. Long lasting up to 12-15 months
Restylane® Defyne
Also a next generation HA, Defyne is designed for treatment of DEEPER FOLDS, and has slightly less flexibility but provides better STRUCTURAL SUPPORT. Also long lasting up to 12-15 months.

6. If you have a history of oral herpes, we recommend you pre-treat with an anti-viral three days before your scheduled visit.
7. We may advise you to stagger other treatments, such as laser, IPL, microdermabrasion and peels to a different day from the Restylane® These treatments can increase blood flow or heat the skin, in turn promoting bruising and reduce the effectiveness of your Restylane®

Restylane® does not require an allergy test as all products are 100% non-animal-based.
Our expert injector will examine the soft tissue of your face to assess the depth of wrinkles and folds to determine your treatment. We will take pre and post injection photographs so you can see the difference once the treatment is complete.
Though not required, our expert injector may use topical or injectable numbing agents prior in order to ensure patient comfort during the treatment.
Restylane® Injectable Gel will be carefully guided under your skin to augment, or fill, wrinkles and folds. When enhancing lips or facial contours, Restylane® adds volume and shape to the treated area. Following the injection, treated areas may be gently massaged. The procedure can last anywhere from 15 to 60 minutes depending on areas being treated.
AFTERCARE
1. Swelling, redness, and tenderness may occur after your treatment and usually resolves within 72 hours.
2. Cold compresses may be used immediately after treatment to reduce swelling and any discomfort.
3. Avoid touching the treated area within 6 hours of treatment so you do not accidentally injure your skin. After that, the area can be gently washed with soap and water. Do not massage the injected areas for 48 hours unless instructed to do so by one of our team members at Our Self-Centered Aesthetics™.
4. Until redness or swelling subsides completely, avoid exposure of the treated area to intense heat (sun lamp or sun bathing) or extreme cold weather.
5. If you have suffered previously from facial cold sores, there is a risk that the needle punctures could contribute to another occurrence. Ask your treatment provider about medications that may minimize a recurrence.
6. Avoid taking aspirin and other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications, St. John’s wort, and high doses of Vitamin E supplements for 3 days after treatment. These agents may increase the risk of bruising and bleeding at the injection site.
7. Avoid aesthetic lasers, microdermabrasion, or IPL over areas with Juvederm® Injectable for a minimum of 6 weeks after treatment unless advised to buy one of our professionals at Self-CA.
One of the risks with using any filler is unintentional injection into a blood vessel, and while exceedingly rare, the complications can be serious and may be permanent. These complications can include vision abnormalities, blindness, stroke, temporary scabs, or permanent scarring.
As with all skin injection procedures, there is a risk of infection.
As with all successful beauty injections, Restylane® is first and foremost a technique-sensitive treatment—look for someone who is licensed and trained and has experience treating patients with these medications.
Be wary of discount products or “cheap” Restylane®—if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
Our team of medical professionals at Self-Centered Aesthetics will take the time to understand your treatment goals and develop a treatment plan that is right for you.

The more permanent fillers available in the US include both fat (which is performed with a surgical procedure called fat transfer) and Bellafill®.
Using a dermal filler like Juvéderm® is a safe and effective way to replace the HA your skin has lost, restoring volume and smoothing facial wrinkles and folds.
Juvéderm is an FDA-approved family of injectable fillers used to treat a variety of reasons, including lifting the cheeks, smoothing marionette lines around the mouth, and plumping the lips. It may also be used to fill pitted acne scars or reduce the appearance of aging hands. Juvéderm fillers are made from hyaluronic acid, a naturally occurring substance in the skin.
We offer JUVÉDERM® in two formulations— JUVÉDERM® Ultra for versatility in contouring and volumizing facial wrinkles and folds, and JUVÉDERM® Ultra Plus, a more concentrated formulation for volumizing and correcting deeper folds and wrinkles. Results generally last between nine months to over one year.

Juvéderm® is for both women and men. Indeed, more and more men are getting cosmetic treatments to look good and stay competitive in the job market. With less stigma associated with plastic surgery nowadays, many men in their mid 40s and above want to look their best and of course do so naturally.

Radiesse®
Among temporary fillers, Radiesse® is almost unparalleled in restoring and augmenting VOLUME in the FACE and HANDS. Its calcium hydroxylapatite formulation not only provides immediate correction of your problem areas but also stimulates your own COLLAGEN PRODUCTION for LONG LASTING improvement.
The more permanent fillers available in the US include both fat (which is performed with a surgical procedure called fat transfer) and Bellafill®.
Radiesse® is an FDA approved injectable filler that works by IMMEDIATELY restoring volume to both the face and hands to erase the signs of aging. It acts as a subdermal foundation to combat the effects of age related atrophy. In addition, it works to STIMULATE the production of your own NATURAL collagen for results that may last a year or more in many patients.
Radiesse® volumizing filler is made of tiny calcium-based microspheres which are suspended in a natural, water-based gel. These calcium based microspheres are similar to minerals that are found naturally in your body. Because of this, allergy testing is not required. Over time, your body absorbs these tiny microspheres as well as the gel and leaves behind only your own natural collagen.
Among the many concerns that can be treated with Radiesse® are:
1. DEEP LINES and FOLDS such as the "nasolabial folds, or "parenthesis lines", marionette folds, "smokers lines" for those vertical wrinkles, frown lines, etc.
2. Facial atrophy such as HOLLOW, gaunt CHEEKS, TEMPLE concavities and "tear troughs" or dark UNDER-EYE circles.
3. Facial ENHANCEMENT including augmenting cheeks, chins, DEFINING jaw lines and improving NASAL SHAPE and symmetry ("nonsurgical nose job").
4. Aging of the HAND including hollowing, visible tendons and veins.
*Individual results may vary. Some concerns which can be successfully treated with Radiesse® are FDA off-label uses.

Radiesse® will be carefully guided into and below your skin with either a small needle or a blunt tip flexible cannula (to minimize any chance of bruising). According to your concerns, Radiesse® may be used to augment your facial features (such as the cheek and nose) and/or restore lost volume responsible for folds, wrinkles and hollowed atrophy of the face or hands. Following the injection, you may be asked to gently massage the treated areas. Unlike other fillers, Radiesse® is associated with some post procedural inflammation that may last one to three days after your injections. This is generally very mild and is of no concern to our patients especially since they have been apprised of this possibility. The injection appointment can last anywhere from 15 to 60 minutes depending on areas being treated and whether or not a cannula is used.

Rarely, a granuloma (small accumulation of collagen that has coalesced into a small lump) may be noticeable after the Radiesse™ treatment. Fortunately, if one does occur, it generally disappears within a month or two on its own.
If you experience swelling at the injection site, you can apply a cold compress for a short period of time.

Bellafill®
Under the guidance of Dr. Haworth, Self-Centered Aesthetics™ has over a decade of experience with Bellafill®. Not only does it provide INSTANT RESULTS but it continues to work overtime by stimulating your own natural COLLAGEN PRODUCTION. Indeed, it is the LONGEST LASTING filler.
The more permanent fillers available in the US include both fat (which is performed with a surgical procedure called fat transfer) and Bellafill®.
Among the many concerns that can be treated with Bellafill® are:
1. DEEP LINES and FOLDS such as the "nasolabial folds, or "parenthesis line," marionette folds, "smokers lines" for those vertical wrinkles, frown lines, etc.
2. The horizontal "necklace lines" or visible grooves that run transversely across the neck.

5. Rejuvenating long, atrophic flaccid earlobes.
6. SCARS including those caused by acne.
7. Aging of the HAND including hollowing, visible tendons and veins.
In the largest and longest study on injectable fillers, Bellafill® outperformed in patient satisfaction, longevity, and safety. At the end of the study, 83% of patients were still satisfied with their results 5 years later. Dr. Haworth and his team at Self-Centered Aesthetics™ believe that Bellafill® can basically provide not just very long-lasting but almost permanent results!
*Individual results may vary. Some concerns which can be successfully treated with Radiesse® are FDA off-label uses.
1. Unlike other fillers on the market, Bellafill® does require a SKIN TEST to determine if you have an allergy to its collagen component. During your initial consult, a minute bleb of Bellafill® is injected within the skin of your forearm similar to a TB or PPD test. Generally 2 to 4 weeks will be allowed to pass to assess whether you develop an allergy to it or not. If no allergy is detected, your Bellafill® treatment can proceed. In the thousands of patients that Dr. Haworth has injected with Bellafill®, only one developed an allergy to the skin test.
2. Bellafill® treatments involve injecting the substance with either a very small needle or a blunt flexible cannula to keep bruising to a minimum. To further lessen the chance of getting a bruise, it is recommended you abstain from medications and supplements that could thin the blood. Common examples of these are listed below. Self-CA can provide you with a printed more comprehensive list of medications, vitamins and nutritional supplements to avoid 7-10 prior to your treatment. Of course, consult your physician before discontinuing any medications or supplements you may have been prescribed.
SUPPLEMENTS AND MEDICATION:
Stop # Days Prior to Procedure:
• Fish Oil --- 10 Days
• Aspirin Products --- 7 Days
• Advil, Motrin, Ibuprofen, other NSAIDS --- 5-7 Days
• Vitamin E --- 7 Days
2. Although many patients do not bruise from a treatment, if a bruise should occur, it may be visible for as long as 7-10 days. Consider this when selecting a date for your treatment.
3. Use of homeopathics including BROMELAIN, ARNICA and PYCNOGENOL can reduce swelling, bruising and inflammation while accelerating healing.
4. Avoid heavy use of alcohol 10 days prior to treatment to decrease the chances of bruising and/or swelling.
5. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should not receive treatment.
THE VISIT
If you are a new client, expect to be here at least 30 minutes. We will review your medical history, go over the procedure, expectations and answer any questions you may have. During your first visit, you will only be administered a Bellafill® allergy skin test in your forearm which is almost painless-that is, of course, if you are not going to be receiving any other separate treatments. You will be scheduled for a follow-up appointment within 2 to 4 weeks and if your allergy test is negative, your first true Bellafill® treatment may take anywhere from 15 to 60 minutes depending on the number of areas to be treated.
Our expert injector will examine the soft tissue of your face to assess the depth of wrinkles and folds to determine your treatment. We will take pre and post treatment photographs to document the improvement once the treatment is complete.
Though not required, our expert injector may use topical or injectable numbing agents prior in order to ensure patient comfort during the treatment. Some report that being injected with feels like a pinch. Either a needle (which is associated generally with less discomfort) or a cannula (which is associated with less bruising) will be recommended.
Bellafill® will be carefully guided under your skin to augment, or fill, wrinkles, folds and scars. Bellafill® adds volume and shape to the treated area. Following the injection, treated areas may be gently massaged after 24-48 hours unless instructed otherwise by one of Self-Centered Aesthetics™ expert beauty injectors. The procedure may take anywhere from 15-60 minutes depending on the number of areas to be injected. Upon injection, the collagen gel in Bellafill® adds INSTANT VOLUME to your lines or acne scars.
Over time, your own collagen and other tissue use the PMMA microspheres as self-propagating support for LONG-LASTING smoothness. Individual results will vary-lip enhancement is not recommended with Bellafill
AFTERCARE
7. Avoid aesthetic lasers, microdermabrasion, or IPL over areas with Bellafill® injectable for a minimum of 6 weeks after treatment unless advised to buy one of our professionals at Self-CA.
As with any skin injections, there is a very low risk of infection. Rarely, granulomas (small, accumulations of collagen) may be noticed within the areas treated with Bellafill®. These usually appear two weeks after treatment. Fortunately, these generally can be easily reversed with an injection of a dilute steroid based combination.
One of the risks with using any filler is unintentional injection into a blood vessel, and while exceedingly rare, the complications can be serious and may be permanent. These complications can include vision abnormalities, blindness, stroke, temporary scabs, or permanent scarring.
As with all successful beauty injections, Bellafill® is first and foremost a technique-sensitive treatment—look for someone who is licensed and trained and has experience treating patients with these medications.
Be wary of discount products or “cheap” Bellafill®—if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
Our team of medical professionals at Self-Centered Aesthetics™ will take the time to understand your treatment goals and develop a treatment plan that is right for you.
